Remembering 9/11

As we approach the 10th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Rutgers University community remembers, reflects, and pays tribute. The features below are among the many ways the university will memorialize the day that changed our lives forever. We encourage you to read more at Rutgers Today as the anniversary draws near, as well as in the Fall 2011 issue of Rutgers Magazine at the end of September.

When the News Broke

Responding to the events of 9/11 in 2001, the three student-run newspapers at Rutgers—the Daily Targum in New Brunswick, the Observer in Newark, and the Gleaner in Camden—covered the horrific event and its aftermath, including the impact on the university community. Ten years later, the students who contributed as reporters, editors, and columnists are now alumni. Below are some of their original headlines.
