- Parking is free in back of the museum. Upon registration there will be pastries and coffee to snack on while visiting the exhibit outside the planetarium. 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
Alumni and friends enter the planetarium to watch “Stars”
(40 minutes; recommended for general audiences). Every star has a story. Some are as old as time, faint and almost forgotten. Others burn bright and end their lives in powerful explosions. New stars are created every day, born of vast clouds of gas and dust. Through every phase of their existence, stars release the energy that powers the Universe. Journey to the furthest reaches of our galaxy and experience both the awesome beauty and destructive power of STARS.
10:50 to 11:10 a.m.
Professor Keeton shows a presentation right above us about the latest research at Rutgers. 11:10 am to 12:30 p.m.
Enjoy a full lunch of assorted Bistro sandwiches, salads, chips, drinks, brownies, and cookies. During lunch, several of Rutgers finest students will showcase interactive demonstrations alongside Professor Keeton.12:30 p.m.
After lunch everyone is invited to stay and tour the 3 floors of the New Jersey State Museum for no extra charge.
