Alumni Wall Calendar Photography Contest

The Alumni Wall Calendar Photography Contest has ended.  Calendars will be available for purchase late this fall! 
 
Your photography could grace the walls of alumni around the world! Whether photography is your passion, your hobby, or just an occasional pastime, we invite you to participate in the 2013 Rutgers Alumni Wall Calendar Photography Contest. Do you have a winning shot of Rutgers? Send in your best campus photos for a chance to have your photo featured in the Rutgers University Alumni Association’s 2013 calendar with your name on the photo credit!

Please review the Official Contest Rules below. Submit qualifying photo entries via email to RUalumnipics@yahoo.com by August 31, 2012.

Photo Eligibility

Both amateur and professional photographers are welcome to participate. You must be a graduate of Rutgers University, staff, faculty, a current student, or a parent of a current student. Photos must be digital, be at least 10" wide  x 8" high (horizontal orientation), and have a DPI resolution of 300 or higher. All photos must be in color and must have been taken within the last two years. Photos must be of something on campus at Rutgers. The photos may include people if you are able to provide their names and contact information in addition to their permission to be photographed. Images should be submitted in JPEG or TIFF format. Images must be in natural color. Black and white, sepia tone, and duotone images are not eligible. Minor digital enhancement is permitted, but images that have been significantly modified or appear unnatural will be disqualified.

Photographer/Copyright

Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. Do not submit a photo taken by someone other than you. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Your submission of the photo and entry form is your guarantee that you are the author and copyright holder of the photo. By submitting this photo, the user grants Rutgers University the rights to use or display this photo for any university-related purpose.

Number of Entries

An individual may submit up to three photos. Photos submitted last year are not eligible to be submitted again, but if you entered the contest last year you may submit new photos this year.

Ownership/Use Rights

Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. By entering the contest, photographers agree to have their submitted photograph displayed in the 2013 Rutgers Alumni Wall Calendar without any fee or other form of compensation, and agree that Rutgers may make and retain copies of the photograph for archival purposes. Photos will be credited to the photographer named in the entry form. Entries (including non-winning entries) may be selected for display or use in other Rutgers materials.

How to Enter

Submit your work for consideration by August 31, 2012 to rualumnipics@yahoo.com with the subject line "2013 Rutgers Alumni Wall Calendar Contest." Include your name, affiliation (alumni with Rutgers school/college and Rutgers graduation year, staff, faculty, student, parent, etc.), mailing address, email address, phone number, the date the photo was taken, the location of photo, names/contact information of those in the photo, and any other relevant caption information.

Judging

Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality, and effectiveness in capturing Rutgers. A Rutgers panel will judge the entries and all contest decisions are final. Entries that fail to comply with the Official Contest Rules will be disqualified.

PRIZE: Published photograph in the 2013 Rutgers Alumni Wall Calendar and three free copies of the 2013 calendar
