Rutgers–Camden has always held a special place in our hearts, but the attempt to take over our campus earlier this year has made alumni realize just how important our campus is.

Homecoming 2012 is the perfect opportunity for alumni and friends to gather and enjoy a day of fun on campus. Homecoming is an event for all ages and it’s FREE, so bring the kids and grandkids!

Throughout the day, follow the Scarlet Brick Road to get to your next destination! 

Schedule of Activities

Women’s Volleyball 
10:00 a.m. 
Main Gym/Athletic Center & Fitness Center
The first of three women’s volleyball games that day! Rutgers–Camden women will compete against John Jay College. 

William Butler Meet & Greet and Gallery Open House
12:00 p.m.
Eleven One Contemporary Art Gallery 
Stop in and visit our neighbor William Butler, an established and nationally-known artist whose work has been exhibited from coast to coast.

Women’s Soccer vs. Allegheny University
12:00 to 1:30 p.m. 
Community Park Field
Delaware and Linden Streets, Camden
Cheer on our women’s soccer team as they face off against Allegheny!

Women’s Volleyball
12:00 pm

John Jay College competes against Marymount University.

The VIP Tent and Street Festivities
12:00 to 4:00 p.m. 
Linden Street, between Delaware and 2nd Street
The hub of Homecoming activity, the VIP tent houses the food area, beer garden and check-in/registration. Stop here first to check-in or register, and then enjoy a whole day of fun features, including: 
  • Food tent – All are welcome to enjoy traditional picnic fare including hot dogs, hamburgers, salads and more!
  • Beer garden – You must be 21 years of age or older and have a RED wristband for admission. Wristbands available at registration, proper photo ID is required
  • Free health screenings at the School of Nursing Alumni tent
  • Street Festivities:
    • The WMMR tent – meet the WMMaRmy with special guest D.J.
    • Rutgers Bookstore
    • Alumni Homecoming King & Queen Crowning (Voting will take place from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. Don't miss the crowning at 2:00 p.m.!) 
    • Alumni chartered group displays
    • Rutgers-Camden student groups, fraternities, and sororities
    • Food and drink samples
    • The Prize Vault – if your ticket is chosen, you get the chance to grab an awesome prize! Earn more chances to win prizes, including the $1000 mystery weekend getaway, an IPad, by bringing non-perishable food canned goods, new socks, coats, and women's toiletries for donation.
    • The Wheel of Fortune – try your luck at winning cool Rutgers prizes!
    • Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament – Preliminary rounds start promptly at 12:45 p.m., followed immediately by the final rounds. The winner will represent Rutgers–Camden in the university-wide competition in New Brunswick on October 27 and receive two tickets to that day’s Rutgers football game! The grand prize winner will receive a NOOK Tablet™, provided by Barnes and Noble at Rutgers Bookstore.
    • RaptorCorps Every Scarlet Raptor (and Pioneer) has a story to tell about Rutgers–Camden, and we want to hear yours. During noon to 3:00 p.m., a videographer will be walking around the grounds at the Rutgers–Camden Community Park to capture your stories about what you value most about our campus. Share your stories for current and future raptors alike to enjoy online!

The Fun Zone
12:00 to 4:00 p.m. 
For kids of all ages! Take a ride on the giant slide, walk through the amazing giant maze, pick a pumpkin and decorate it, get your face painted, meet some friendly critters, try your hand at carnival games, and more. There’s plenty to do in the Fun Zone!

Raptor Rally
1:30 p.m.
The Main Stage
Stop by for this highlight event, featuring a performance by the Mighty Marching Panthers - Camden High School Marching Band. 

Women’s Volleyball
2:00 p.m.
Athletic and Fitness Center
Rutgers–Camden takes on Marymount University in the last volleyball game of the day. 

Men’s Soccer vs. William Paterson University
2:00 p.m. 
Last year’s team brought us the most success Rutgers–Camden’s men’s soccer season in program history, reaching number nine in the national NCAA Division III rankings and making it to the division’s Elite Eight contest. Come out and cheer on this year’s team!

Parking

Parking for Homecoming is available in Lots #13 and 14 on 3rd Street. No permit is necessary. Take the walkway between the lots and head west, away from campus towards Philadelphia, onto Linden Street. Follow the signs on Linden Street one block to the Homecoming fun!
